Remington Typwriter
I saw this Remington Typewriter (circa 1920) during a visit to the Zennor museum and thought I should take a look at the history of the QWERTY keyboard. The QWERTY layout was invented by Christopher Sholes in 1874. A good explanation of his rationale for the layout will be found here

furthermore...

The patent for his typewriter was purchased by the rifle manufacturer - Remington who eventually sold it to the Standard Typewriter Manufacturing Company in 1866. They then changed their name to the Remington Typewriter Company and again to Remington Rand. Remington Rand then went on to invent the electric razor!
